A startup in LA is 3D printing a rocket in 60 days!

Relativity is creating the first autonomous rocket factory and launch service.

They are creating a wave in the industry in two ways…

  1. The typical part count dropping from about 100,000 to 1000
  2. Flexible manufacturing due to autonomous 3D printing machines

They work from the ground up. Producing their entire rocket using Computer Aided Design (CAD).

“Stargate” is the world’s largest 3D metal printer built in house.

Direct Energy Deposition Method allows Stargate to build most of the components onto the rocket. Think about it as one piece that serves multiple functions.

A rocket that once took 3000 components to build, can now be built out of 3 parts.

The company is raising millions of dollars fast and isn’t set to launch a rocket until 2020 – 2021.

These Monthly Arduino Project Kits Are an Awesome Way to Learn Coding and Electronics

Guess who was featured in futurism!

Creation Crate turns out to be one of futurism’s favorite arduino project kits.

“If you’ve recently found yourself spending too much time looking at memes on your phone, or you’ve noticed you are becoming unnervingly familiar with Netflix’s back catalogue of obscure conspiracy theory documentaries, it might be time to find a new hobby. Preferably one that’s not going to rot your brain. And if you happen to have an interest in science and technology, you probably won’t find a cooler hobby than Creation Crate’s Arduino-based project kits.”

Arduino Robot Drummer

Trying to start a band but don’t have any musically talented friends?

Who needs friends when you have a robot drummer!

Franco Molina is the inventor and had a few things to say about his inspiration for the project…

“The idea would be to make something portable, which could move and play sounds in different rhythms with no use of samples/recordings, that could be played or stopped at will, and that its sound could be amplified in a gig/band situation.”
